Soul Fire Farm
Naima is the Director of Education at Soul Fire Farm, an Afro-Indigenous centered community farm committed to uprooting racism and seeding sovereignty in the food system. With deep reverence for the land and wisdom of our ancestors, we raise and distribute life-giving food and strengthen the movements for food sovereignty and community self-determination.
WILDSEED
WILDSEED Community Farm & Healing Village is Naima’s love child. We are a BIPOC-led intentional community, ecological farm, and healing sanctuary focused on transformative justice, earth stewardship and intergenerational responsibility.
Mycology
Naima is a mushroom enthusiast and devotee, committed to partnering with fungi for ancestral healing, ecosystem restoration, paradigm shifting, and interkingdom collaboration.
Climbing PoeTree
For 18 years, Naima travelled the globe with partner-in-rhyme, Alixa Garcia, on a mission to overcome destruction with creativity. At concert halls and conferences, classrooms and festivals, prisons and universities, Climbing PoeTree has inspired thousands of people to activate the transformation they wish to cultivate within themselves and their communities.
Harriet’s Apothecary
Naima is an originating member of Harriet’s Apothecary, an intergenerational, healing collective led by the brilliance and wisdom of Black Cis Women, Queer and Trans people. We create accessible, affordable, liberatory community healing spaces that recognize, inspire, and deepen the healing genius of people who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of color and the allies that love us.
Ayiti Resurrect
Naima founded Ayiti Resurrect in the aftermath of the 2020 earthquake the ravaged her grandfather’s homeland. The effort brought together more than 70 African heritage healers, artists and farmers from the diaspora to collaborate with a rural community post-earthquake, planting 4000 trees, hosting 7 clinics and coordinating more than 60 skill shares and workshops.
Artistry
Naima’s happy place is writing, designing, painting, performing, collaging, drawing, and dancing. She devotes her creative energy to uplifting the stories we need to hear, and exercising her visionary imagination toward life-affirming futures.
